NYC!

Postby Hey Its Rob » Sat Feb 11, 2006 1:00 pm

Anyone up for a NYC sketchcrawl that day?? I was at the last one, at the Rubin Museum, and it was a great experience. Had no idea the 8th crawl would come so quickly, but here it is! So who's going to join me?

I missed the Rubin one, but I'm up for another NYC crawl. The previous two were at the Met and the Museum of Natural History. Any ideas for a new location? (preferably indoors!) Maybe the Central Park zoo?

Indoors, definitely! I don't know much about cool NYC places to draw, but if the Central Park Zoo is indoors (or sheltered enough), that sounds like a fantastic idea! Think we should establish an afternoon time? I should be free all day. Tell your friends, the bigger the group, the better! Hopefully more people will reply here soon.

So it seems like Central Park zoo is fine with the few people who've gotten back to me. Hopefully it will be shoveled out by the weekend! They have some decent indoor areas. So how does 11 or 12 at the main gate sound? The zoo is located at 64th St and 5th Ave, on the park. They're open until 4:30 on Sunday.

Let me know how that sounds, and I'll be able to post the details around! You can also email me at alisamharris (at) hotmail.com

Sounds good to me! Hopefully it won't be too cold to draw.

Alright here's some final meeting info for Sunday: 12 noon at the Central Park zoo entrance. (64th St and 5th Ave.) http://nyzoosandaquarium.com/5719085

There were also suggestions to draw inside the Time Warner Mall on Columbus Circle which overlooks the park (since the zoo closes at 4:30.)

See you then!

Damn. Unfortunately since I'm back under the weather with a nagging cold/flu that just won't quit, I'm thinking the freezing weather of tomorrow won't be healthy for me. I'll have to skip this Crawl, see you guys on the next one. Look forward to seeing what you all come up with if you post your work here!

Postby Alisa » Mon Feb 20, 2006 3:23 am

Here are some photos from todays sketchcrawl at the Central Park Zoo in New York. There were a total of 10 sketchcrawlers that braved the cold of the city! Thanks for coming out guys! I'll be posting some sketches soon as well.
