Hey Bruce, how much is parking at the Visitor's Center?bruceb wrote:Hi all,
I believe it was proposed to meet:
* about 11AM
* at #1 Letterman Drive, Starbucks
But if parking is expected to be an issue, might I suggest the old "Officer's Club", now
NPS Visitors Center at (about):
* 34 Moraga Ave, San Francisco, CA
* map: http://maps.google.com/maps?client=safa ... 19&iwloc=A
Lots of parking in front.
Looking forward to it!
Bruce
Also, does anyone have the exact location/address/cross streets of the Crissy Field parking so that I can google map it? I did a search but didn't find a specific location. The official site's directions are pretty vague. TIA!

Hi!
If you follow the map link and look at the satellite you can see.
I'd say about 180 places or so.
Hoping for a large turnout?
See you there.

Re: San Francisco, CA, USA
lol oops i meant how much does it cost to park there?
Re: San Francisco, CA, USA
Tee Hee, I missed that meaning. I would guess it's free, I don't see any parking meters.
I think the bus line goes by there as well.

Re: San Francisco, CA, USA
My wife and I will be in SF all weekend, but unfortunately on the other side of town--attending the Silent Film Festival being held at the Castro Theater. Saturday afternoon we'll be watching "The Wild Rose", a Chinese film from 1932. The SFF is like a pilgrimage we make every year--too bad it was on the same weekend as the Sketchcrawl. I am going to take my sketchbook and try to get some sketches from around the Castro on Saturday. I'll post those after we get back home, and I'll catch up with all you guys the next time around!
Cheers, John

So, will we use the same Starbucks as the end destination? What time to end up - 5PM? or Earlier?

Re: San Francisco, CA, USA
Hi,
I called the Starbucks and found out there's only 20 minute parking there; besides that, they said, there's only street parking. They didn't know of any lots near by, but I think the parking lot at the Visitor Center (mentioned earlier on this forum) sounds like a good choice if we can't find street parking.
I think we should be careful not to make ourselves walk more than we have to just to meet somewhere--if meeting at the parking lot on Moraga would be easier, then maybe that could be an option too.
The starbucks' hours are from 6:30 am to 6:00 pm, so if we are meeting up there again at the end of the day we should keep that in mind...

OK,
a) Thanks for checking on Starbucks Amelia!
b) I'm a newbie here - this will be my first time, and I'm a big fan of consensus, and I don't know if someone is "in charge",
but on the eve of the event it seems like it is time to pick a plan.
Therefore, based on discussions to date, (unless someone with greater authority cares to step forward)
I say the plan is:
I'm really looking forward to this!

I say the plan is:
- * Meet at 11:00am
* Meet at the National Park Visitors Center
--- located in the Officers' Club, Building 50, on Moraga Avenue near Arguello Boulevard
--- Google Map: http://tinyurl.com/mhouqq
* There we can park, congregate, look at maps of the area and bus route
* Then decide, walk, bus or drive to the start of the crawl
--- Bus schedule (PDF): http://www.presidio.gov/NR/rdonlyres/DE ... huttle.pdf
* Finish up about 5pm where ever we decide, but likely Starbucks, #1 Letterman Drive, SF
I'm really looking forward to this!

Re: San Francisco, CA, USA
Would you or someone else know how to get there coming into the City on BART? Thanks. It looks like the Officers Club is on the shuttle route, but does someone know how to find the Presidigo bus at the BART station?

Hi All!
Sketchcrawl is an informal event that typically requires a start and end location and meeting times (and some parking info).
Enrico (the founder) leads the San Francisco group, however he is in Italy right now so tomorrow should be self regulated by all of you.
You guys/gals have been doing well so far!!!! Congrats to those of you that have provided some input.
I would just like to suggest to probably make the end time 4:30pm in that way it gives you more time to share!
The end location could be decided tomorrow morning at the meetup and it would be nice if that can be decided before hand (if different than Starbucks), so those that arrive sometime after 11am know where to meet all of you.
Personally I will be with my wife in downtown Santa Rosa on an informal Sketchcrawl, come say hi if you see us.

I too won't be able to make it to the Presidio, but I will still be sketching in San Francisco tomorrow, most likely going from 16th Street Mission to the Castro, from about noon onwards. If you see me, say hello! Feel free to join me!
Happy sketching,
Pete
