Seattle, Washington USA
Hey, everyone, are we still on for the zoo?
And another time -- how about Fishermen's Terminal?

Zoo sounds very good as does the Fishermen's Terminal. I'd be happy with either. There may be other ideas. Let's see what "the group" sends to the top. Look forward to sharing the day with all of you, wherever it will be.

Yeah both are great. I just like the environment of it all more then anything else. I'm down for whatever as well!

I vote for the zoo. I want to draw an elephant and the last time I was at fisherman's terminal there wasn't a pachyderm to be seen anywhere. I suppose they could have been hiding, or out fishing that day, but I still think the zoo would be my best bet.

Hey people. =]
Just going to say hi and introduce myself, since you guys seem to know each other. I'm Cindy, and I just moved here with my bf from San Francisco where we had some friends that did the sketchcrawls there. We're going to try to go the seattle one and meet some people and maybe make some friends?

Welcome to Seattle!! We are glad to steal you away from SF!!
I am going to go out on a limb and suggest 10 am for our meetup at the zoo on July 11. Outside the front entrance? Will this work? Anyone?

Welcome to Seattle!!! I did a San Francisco crawl once it was a lot of fun!
Hey Beth just so there is no confusion on exactly where to meet Which entrance is the main one? I know of three different entrances at woodland park zoo, South, North and West. I'm not sure if they have an east? Anyways which is the one we should meet?
Thanks guys can't wait to see you all again!

Re: Seattle, Washington USA
Hey Seattle SketchCrawlers, how about meeting in the Woodland Park Zoo Rose Garden, adjacent to the zoo ticketing gates on the south side of the zoo? It's prettier than hanging out by the gates! http://www.zoo.org/zoo_info/rosegarden/rosegarden.html
The Woodland Park Rose Garden is near the main entrance on the south side of the Woodland Park Zoo: walk north through the parking lot at N. 50th and Fremont Avenue North to the ticketing gates, look to your right (east) to the rose garden. Admission to the Rose Garden is free. Should be pretty right now! Here's a recent article and photos: http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/p ... ife21.html
Here is a link to the zoo's "how to get here" website with links to zoo map, transit info and maps, parking etc. http://www.zoo.org/zoo_info/planning/directions.html. Also see http://www.zoo.org/zoo_info/planning/hours.html And hey, if we get a good turnout: "Groups of 20 or more paying individuals are entitled to a 10% discount providing one person pays for the entire group and the group enters together through one entry at one time. It is not necessary to make prior arrangements with the zoo unless the group wishes to also reserve a picnic area."
Here's a zoo map!http://www.zoo.org/zoo_info/pdf_bin/map.pdfShows the rose garden too (lower right corner).
How does that sound?

Sorry I didn't answer, Josh, my "subscription" to Sketchcrawl posts seems to have gone missing. I didn't even know there was more than one entrance! Until Teresa emailed me through my blog I didn't know there'd been any discussion here about this!
Glad you may join us on the 19th at Fishermen's Terminal too! Know I will be there for sure.
Tyler my dear, I love the idea of the Rose garden meetingplace/entrance. I will post it on Seattle Plein Air for those who plan to come -- until it changes again!
What do the rest of you think?
See you all in just over a week!!!!

I like the idea of meeting at the Rose Garden entrance...and thanks to Tyler and Beth for making all the information available for those of us who may have never been to the Seattle Zoo. It should be a great day. See you all there! Frances
