hello fellow sketchers. the details of the first meeting of the bristol sketch initiative have now been finalised and are as follows:
- meet at 13:30 on saturday 16th october by the queen victoria statue on college green. click here for a map of the location.
- we can either go sketching as a group or in ones or twos. whatever you prefer - it's all good
in terms of themes or what to draw, here's what we were thinking:
- college green and park street are usually pretty busy on a saturday, so there should be plenty to draw. for those who like people watching, there's always either an event on or a bunch of people lazing about on the green.
- for those who prefer straight lines and immovable objects (!) there's the beautiful bristol cathedral, the great gatehouse, the central library etc. click here to find out more.
- or you could have a stab at recreating banksy's naked man hanging from the window, which is opposite the green on park street.
weather watch:
- hopefully it'll stay dry for us on the day, but if it does start raining, we could head into the cathedral and continue our sketch session from there.
afterwards:
- meet back at the queen victoria statue at 15:30 to go for coffee and a chat, compare our efforts and decide on the location for the next meeting.
