I had to wait for the bus for a while to go to Seoul central Mosque earlier in morning.
In the meantime, I drew this sketch at the coffee shop called Rottie burn in Wonju city,Korea.
Watercolor painting with the felt tip pen and highlighter pen
on the watercolor paper.

It was really crazy hot and humid weather all day long.
I was moved by enthusiasm and passion of USK Seoul members.
All works were cool

Seoul Central Mosque looked great with its characteristic Islamic design. It was my third time to visit there. But every time I could find different scene to draw. It may be caused by different seasons and visitors from all nations.
Yesterday the temperature was 36.9 degrees at Seoul. Cold water kept us cool down all the while sketching. Passion of the sketchers to capture the beautiful building might have been rewarded by their excellent works. We were all the winners against the terrible heat. Thank you all!

Sketches done by Han Jeong-Seon(한정선)
Yesterday ,the weather was extremely hot .
But our aspirations were hotter than the heat .
I was already prepared for the heat, l rather thanked
in the shade of the trees and breeze.
The Isalamic Mosque was unique and exotic,
I was so sorry couldn't to drew from various anglers ,
because it was so hot I couldn't move here and there .
Actually the weather was another touch task,
but the works of members was good enough to reward .
Thank you for all the members attending ~~^^

Last Saturday, it was midsummer with the sweltering heat and humidity. For the 60th World Wide SketchCrawl, we Seoul sketchers met at the Seoul Central Mosque located in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu , Seoul. The Seoul Central Mosque built in 1976, was established to be a place to worship for Muslims in Korea as well as to educate the larger public about Islam and Islamic cultures. The Seoul Central Mosque is a place of religious, and Islamic rules and customs should be respected, so we cared about every move during the sketch time inside the precincts of the mosque. The beautiful mosque is famous for its characteristically Islamic design in the middle spot between the Han River and Namsan, but will be scheduled to reconstruction in modern style sooner or later.
Outside the mosque, there were many halal restaurants and shops where we can watch a lot of Muslims and the public convenience, Islamic bookstore, consists of a halal supermarket, travel agencies.
I sketched the symbolic mosque from various angles, exotic surrounding scenes in and outside the precincts. It was an exciting sketch time overcoming the terrible heat.

The Mosque in Itaewon, Seoul
In the afternoon, I went to a cool cafe near the mosque because the weather was so hot!!!
And drew the opposite building.
One more painting, a telephone pole.
it was so hot, but all sketchers were passionate.
it gave me a lot of impetus.
and it was a good time cause i could focus on the paintings.
Re: Seoul,Korea [ RESULTS]
It was very very very hot..
But No one complained, only drawing.
They were really great sketchers!!

Iteawon Mosque 20.5*27cm watercolor on paper
Nice to meet you!
I'm a seoul urban sketcher beginer~
coffee shop 'Mmm Records' in Iteawon ,Seoul. 13.5*42cm watercolor on paper
About 10 minutes later, I arrived at the Itaewon mosque to find a number of screeners opening a sheet of paper and a sketchbook and drawing.
It was a heat wave, but surprisingly, 10people were there already.
I participated for the first time and left two sketches.
One looks at the front of the mosque, the other at the cafe window, 10 minutes walk from the mosque.

Drawing in Mosque located in Itaewon
On July 21st, Seoul Urban Sketchers had World Wide Sketcher meeting at Islamic central Mosque which is located in Itaewon. The Mosque was built in 1970 and the harmony of the white building and the blue tiles was gorgeous and unusual. The crescent moon for symbol of Islam and the phrase, arabic written in green, “god is great” were impressive.
Mosque is located on a hill, thus it has a panoramic view of Itaewon. The worship services are held five times a day, sunrise, noon, afternoon, sunset, and at night. On the day we were drawing, services were not held, so it was perfect day to sketch except of terribly hot. I was disappointed by the fact that visitors could not enter the Mosque, hence we could not sketch the inside. But I was very impressed by Urban Sketcher’s passion as hot as the weather.
Shoes left for worship (20*13 cm, pen & water colored pencil)
The top of the mosque (20*13 cm, pen)
Outside Mosque (13*30 cm, pen & water colored pencil)
Seoul Central Masjid, first Islamic Mosque (25*18 cm, pen & water color)
Some buildings from hill (29* 21 cm, pen & oil colored pencil)
