Since I didn't manage to post a single drawing for the last SketchCrawl , this time I went ahead, and did a few drawings yesterday at the Army Museum. So for super-early starters this time, here are my "pre-results"

I'm off to Les Invalides now. I might post some photos of our day in real-time. In any case, here's the group page for photos and drawings

Cheers!

Nice work Kim! You got a lot done on your own. Looks like armour could be fun to draw.

Re: Paris, France (results)
Good work some diverse subjects. It must have been an interesting place to draw.
Re: Paris, France (results)
Yes Tracey, the armor ended up being even more fun than I expected. They've got a really amazing collection -- the detail on some of the pieces is absolutely stunning. I'm actually going to go back and do more now
Thanks Tim! There is a lot to see and draw! A lot of the Parisian sketchers had either never been, or had visited the place once as a child etc... So many spent the whole morning just touring the place. With the museum collections, the buildings and the surrounding grounds I think there's enough for few SketchCrawls, actually!

Ok, so for the write-up: we were about 40 sketchers to meet at the Hôtel des Invalides yesterday for the 45th WW SCrawl at the designated times. Lots of new faces, and a sketcher from LA, another from Texas (who lives here now) and a sketchcrawler from Strasbourg as well, so it was great fun meeting everyone, lots to share and new friendships made
Around 20 people were already at the first café at 10:00am, and plenty more showed up by noon. We had some really terrific weather -- 25°C/77°F by the afternoon. So a lot of sketchers stayed outdoors making most of the sun. Others did make it into the museum to sketch from the collection and some even spent the whole morning checking out the really great show they have now "View from the Front" which includes some amazing sketches from the frontlines of WWI, paintings and drawings, etc.
Several people stayed on at our last café stop talking, exchanging tips and talking about art in all its forms. Finally, André who really did not want to stop sketching managed to get the last of us out the door for a little night sketching
It was pretty hard drawing when I couldn't really see my paper, but lessons learned, we'll definitely have to do that again!
A big huge thanks to everyone who joined us yesterday, and an extra thanks to those who have/plan to share their drawings here on the forum and on our Flickr page here https://www.flickr.com/groups/sketchcrawlparis/
And hats off to everyone for the wonderful day -- and for all of the great sketches you made!
Cheers!

It was a wonderful day spent at Hôtel des Invalides with the crew from Paris Sketchers and others drawing enthusiasts.
The weather could not have been better. The sun out all day, I took advantage by staying outdoors for all my sketches (see below). In addition, the sketch-at-night-after-drinks idea (last sketch below) turned out to be a fun experience.
Kudos to Kim for organizing yet another excellent sketchcrawl. I'll agree with her: Les Invalides is a site that offers plenty of sketching opportunities. What a delight!
