I've done January sketchcrawls outdoors before, and they are NOT fun! So I did a solo crawl today at the Paramus Park Mall. There were lots of things to sketch, and places to sit while I did it. I managed to do seven sketches, which is probably a record for me.
I started with breakfast at McDonalds.
Then I sketched the people at the table in front of me.
"The Wild Turkey", a sculpture in the food court.
I sat looking at the entrance to Sears for this one. Lands End was having a big sale.
This guy was waiting for his wife. I liked the tree decorated with strings of lights and red and pink ornaments.

A kiosk with Valentine candies and gifts.
A lifesized poster in the window of Victoria's Secret.

I can't believe you did so many sketches, Mickey! Great job!!!

Thanks, Joan. I probably would have done more (I was on a roll) but the mall was getting crowded and it was difficult to find a place to sit with a view of some of the things I wanted to sketch. I wished several times that I could sketch standing.

Thanks for sharing! You did a lot of sketches working solo
Re: Paramus, New Jersey, USA [Results]
Thanks for looking and commenting, Noemig! Sometimes I sketch alone, and sometimes with my sister Joan. I am jealous of the people who have large groups to sketch with. It looks like so much fun. I can't seem to interest my art friends in doing Sketchcrawls. Maybe I need to get some new friends. LOL!

Great job Mickey! I can't believe how many sketches you did, and you managed to find a great variety . A little sisterly competition? Good for you being motivated for going solo.

Hi Mickey! It's good that you moved from one sketch to another. It's too easy to get the inertia that causes a sketch to be overworked! Thanks for checking out our Tallahassee FL results!

Thanks, Susan. No competition. Joan almost always does more sketches than I do, because she's faster. But I'm learning to sketch directly in pen, which keeps me from wasting too much time erasing.
Thanks, Mark. I found more of a variety than I expected, and it was fun doing a quick sketch of each instead of laboring over one or two.

Great reportage from a mall I know there are tempting subjects yet so difficult to find a place to sit, relax, and sketch. Bravo!

Thanks, Anaquarelle and Kumi.
