Via Frederick:
"32nd International Sketch Crawl WDC Union Station
Meeting at Union Station in the great hall near by the information counter or that vicinity at 10-11:00 AM.
Group lunch and sketch share Noon in food court?
More sketching after lunch till we feel ready to take a break and get drinks and share the rest.
Home and scan, post and tell the world about the HEAT in WDC we missed while enjoying the sights and sounds of Historic Union Station."

My four sketches completed today during the Washington DC group's visit to Union Station.

Just stopping by to enjoy all the great work. That hat stand made me want to try that as a challange some time if I ever come across one.

Thanks for stopping by and mentioning my "hat stand". It was in an open shopping mall setting. Any of those little carts in shopping mall corridors would be a fun challenge to draw. Hats might have been the easiest because they are so big but keys, watches or sunglasses other stuff could be fun too. Good hunting!Mossgate wrote:Just stopping by to enjoy all the great work. Here are 4 of the 7 people who showed up in Washington DC to draw at Union Station.
Joel blue shirt on the left, Robin Meyers in red, Marguerite in orange with the walking stick and Dan Vera the poet and sketch crawl enthusiast on the right.
Many of us posted our photos on our Facebook group page, some don't even know how to use this forum.

We have been doing a daily sketch with some of the other artists in the Sketchcrawl DC group every day this month of July. Lots of pictures to see there.
But it was extra fun to get together and sketch in the old train station and enjoy the powerful air conditioning on a day where the heat was over 100ºF 37ºC plus lots of humidity making it feel even hotter.
Autumn and Spring are the best times to be outside in our city for sketching.
What a wonderful thing this forum and the international sketch crawls are for they bring us all a little closer and make us more confidant that our efforts to draw the world around us are worth while. Thanks Enrico for sharing your inspirational idea and making an international community for us to belong to!

Washington, DC Sketchers
I like that fact you guys are colour-coded - was this pre-arranged? what colours are the other three going to be when they show in the next photo
All great sketches, fantastic statue and the "Hat Stand" is a real stand-out. I bet thousands of people pass this every day and do not really look at it.
I'll just pop over to the facebook page for a look see and check out the others.
Cheers

Lovely work and interesting photos but I have to agree - the hatstand takes it!
I'll be off now to look at your facebook work.
