Here are some drawings from our small group in Vancouver who met in the morning at Bayshore West Marina at Coal Harbor.

Thanks to Cyber Dave for setting the time and location!
Using an oil stick on bristol board I sketched another artist who was focused on the marina.
The other three members of our group.
The beautiful view from our location.
People walking along the marina.
In the afternoon I sat outside the Take Five Cafe on 4th Avenue in Kitsilano sketching people walking past or waiting at the bus stop.
These legs were too great to pass up.
Waiting for the bus.
Waiting to board.

Hello Van-Crawlers!
Sorry my delays to check your posts...We had a great time meeting up with Sketchcrawlers M9fred and friends in Austria; Saw another Take Five Cafe there, Take5 used to be my regular spot in Japan.
Good to see your art as usual. like your particular ways of rendering...

Sketchcrawl 36 late postings
Unfortunately I was pretty tired before I went out to do Sketchcrawl 36 so I did not fair well that day.
I made a feeble attempt at the sketch immediately below and intended to try out some markers.
Had to give up as I kept falling asleep and was feeling kind of sick in the sun.
The second sketch below, was a result of some really rough pencil scratchings while talking to Garman. I decided yesterday to finish the sketch using a Pilot drawing pen and a single Derwent Graphitint Warm Grey pencil. So here it is in Black and White.
"Devonian Harbour Park - Vancouver, BC"
Unfinished as I was feeling ill and had to leave - here it is such as it was"
"Devonian Harbour Park - Vancouver, BC"
Original very rough pencil under-sketch done on Sketchcrawl 36 day - this sketch was first of the day
Completed and inked 11-Aug-2012
This sketch dedicated to Mark Fletcher & Sara Chang - friends and inspiration

Hi Dave,
Thanks for dedicating such an excellent drawing to us! It's a great one, and I'm not "just saying that"...
Your sectioning of foreground, middle ground and background created an beautiful composition . The way you used bands of gray, white and black gives it clarity and cohesion. Interesting details without getting fussy or obsessive, and some resting areas of solid black or white. The plants and masts bridging or weaving one band into another really takes it from really good to outstanding!
We love the textures, subject & all the different marks you make.
