Asuka..
We were certainly glad you came and hope you felt as much at home as possible.
Wow, you did some beautiful sketches.
Now that looks like one of the two Red/Blue/Green macaws that was teasing me for hours. I recognize that smug look anywhere LOL.. well done
Fantastic coloured sketch of the trees.. so lush and green and I see the dome lightly in the background. Wonderful use of watercolours
Cheers

Re: Vancouver, BC Canada - [Results]
Thanks David
Thanks again for organising the venue - it was challenging but rewarding.
I learnt a lot from the sketchcrawl.
I first started with the birds, thinking that it would be ok, but they moved a lot! Maybe I'll splatter some red around next time to suggest movement. I wasn't used to using so many brights on the one page and having to time the start of the next colour for a bleed or hard edge was a good exercise.
There was so much going on inside the conservatory, so it was a good exercise to find a subject in there.
Jim uses opaques in his sketches (they look so beautifully retro/whimsical to me) so I am going to experiment with that. Not for highlights but to glaze/splatter over areas to suggest humidity/rain?
I learnt a lot from the Sketchcrawl and watching how and what others sketched was great.
Cheers

Thanks Jim for the inspiration of using gouache on beige paper.
I apologise that this isn't a sketchcrawl drawing but it was inspired directly from the sketchcrawl.
A friend's wedding invite came in the mail - in a beige envelope. Instead of sending them an acceptance card, I decided to paint the Byron Bay lighthouse as they are getting married there and then send the envelope back to them.
I just wanted to send a big thanks.
Cheers

Thanks Alle
Your too kind.
If you have a spare moment, google Craig Ruddy's Archibald winning charcoal sketch of David Gulpilil. The Archibald Prize is presented by an Australian art gallery to the best portrait painting. It's quite popular in that it gets prime time news coverage.
Like Ruddy's drawing, I like the way that you used lots of lines. It suggests a lot of movement for me.
Cheers
