Sydney - RESULTS

Post by alissa »

Fifteen sketchers met at in the suburb of Kirribilli, in Sydney. We started at a park overlooking the Harbour and city skyline and many of us were tempted to capture this scene on paper. After a break for lunch we moved on to Luna Park, which is a fun park on the other side of the Bridge pylon. The day started out overcast but was sunny by the end. There were still people sketching when I left at 3pm. It was a very enjoyable day and seemed to be a very productive day for all.

Here are my drawings of Sydney Harbour and a historic building. It was probably a bit ambitious to start the day with this huge panaoramic scene.

great variety of sketches, love the opera house building, i'm so jealous of your weather there, chances of sun for us in Seattle are probably going to be 0.1 percent when we start our sketchcrawl in the morning

cheers

I was at Kirribilli on the Sydney Sketchcrawl also
Image
First I drew the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House, and a seat (which really faced the harbour).
Then we had lunch and my tea came in this amazing cup/saucer/pot thing.
Image After lunch we went to Luna Park and I drew people watching their children on the Tango Train.

There's more info on my blog, but that's all the drawings today.

Hi Everyone,

So sorry that I missed out especially when the was such a great turn out! Here are my solo sketchcrawl sketches - quiet morning and then went out to Brays Bay Concord in the afternoon for a few quick sketches. Hope to see everyone else's work and to be able to make it next time! So far looks like a great day.

Alissa and Wendy- I love your sketches. (Wendy I have been drawing a lot of teapots/cups lately - wish I had been there!)

Sorry I'm a little slow. My blog software crashed several times, so I went to watch some tv to calm down.

Right where was I... As Alissa said, we had 15 SketchCrawlers at Kirribilli, 10 from a Social Network Sketch Club and five from a Facebook group me and Arutea created. This is why we had more this time around. So we went to Kirribilli which is on the opposite side of Sydney Harbour adjacent to that famous bridge ... you know the one I mean. We sketched for two hours, some only half completing one sketch, some a few more. Here are my first two. I think its pretty good after 12 hours of sketching practise.

We went for lunch at a nearby cafe and then returned to Luna Park, though a few still had to finish off their sketch of the harbour - one will be a work of art. Note the 35 metre Ferris wheel has that darn bridge in the background.

Now my scanner is not working, so I took digital photo's of the sketches. Boy am I going to get fried for that (like my scanner). I might have my technology right next time!
