Los Angeles [Results]
Hey everyone! Where should we go for Los Angeles sketchcrawl? It looks like sunny weather will hold but January sketchcrawls are usually held indoors just in case of rain. How about California Science Center to sketch the Shuttle? Any other ideas?

Re: Los Angeles
Hi everyone,
Let's go to LACMA (Los Angeles County Museum of Art) for Los Angeles Sketchcrawl!
This is a good place to sketch buildings and outdoor sculptures, fashionably-dressed art patrons, and see art up close in the galleries.
+optional: we can also choose to walk to either La Brea Tar Pits next door or to Farmer's Market/the Grove (about 1 mile/20 minute walk) afterwards for more sketching, and look at each others' sketches over lunch.
======
Meet at:
Saturday, January 25, 2014
10:30am
(Meet at front of lamp posts facing Wilshire Blvd.)
LACMA (Los Angeles County Museum of Art)
5905 Wilshire Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90036
http://lacma.org/
Free admission for the day (thanks to Museums Free-for-All-Day organized by SoCal Museums http://touch.latimes.com/#section/-1/ar ... -78821455/)
Bring $ for food/parking, wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather with sunscreen/hat and/or jacket
Parking:
$10/day in the lot on Wilshire or underground parking (entrance on 6th Street), free or metered on the side streets - read the signs!
Public transportation:
Metro 20 & 720 on Wilshire and 217, 218 and 780 on Fairfax all stop within half a block of the museum. For public transportation information, call 323-GoMetro (323 466-3876) or use the Metro Trip Planner at http://www.metro.net/.

Re: Los Angeles
I had a great time at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) painting with some fantastic artists. I began painting at approximately 11:00 am. I did these two paintings
,
then walked with my wife to Farmer's Market for lunch at 12:30 pm.
After lunch, I returned to do this painting of the site where we originally met under the lamps.
.
I look forward to painting with these artists again.

Re: Los Angeles [Results]
I sketched the two massive and iconic outdoor sculptures: "The Rock" (Levitated Mass by Michael Heizer) and "The Lamps" (Urban Lights by Chris Burden).
Thanks for coming out to sketchcrawl, everybody!
