Ok, the date has been set for the 16th sketchcrawl--Sunday, Nov 4. The weather should be beautiful, so there should be no excuses for everyone's absence :D

Let's start talking about where to go. My thoughts, the zoo, Trail dust town

I am so excited!! : :P I will be in town and plan to be there!

I have been to the zoo and Trail Dust Town-both are great places to sketch.

Thanks Donna for being the leader on this. I so look forward to participating this year!!

Location Suggestions

Post by TeriC »

I have been giving this some thought and finally came up with a few suggestions. At the top of my list is a place I have read and heard about but have never been there; the barrio. That is the way I have heard it called and I think it is full of historical buildings and it sounds so interesting.

My second suggestion is downtown Tucson and my third is the art museum.

But really, anywhere is fine with me. :D

I am so looking forward to meeting you all and doing some great fun sketching. Got the calendar marked too.

And then there is always 4th avenue, a sure source of much to sketch.

I have to quit thinking about this, I am getting too excited

16th Crawl

Post by helen gaus »

First I thought about all of us going to Tubac for the day. We could probably take one car. Then I thought Trail Dust Town would be wonderful. So my vote is for Trail Dust Town. Helen

I really have to agree with Helen, Trail Dust Town is a wonderful place to sketch. On site food, bathrooms, trees, grass, benches, shade etc, etc. You could sketch here for a week and not get it all.

I won't be making it, as Tad's folks will be in town. But thought I'd throw in my two cents, anyway. On Sunday Nov 4 is the All Soul's Procession on Fourth Ave--it doesn't start til 6pm, but usually, all day, you see some VERY strange characters hanging around the cafes and going to the co-op. It might be a VERY interesting place to sketch in the afternoon...I will try to sketch wherever I am that day, since I won't be formally with y'all. Have fun!

For those that might be interested.

1. Sarnoff Artist Materials Expo is Friday, Nov.2 and Saturday Nov 3. I understand that there are fantastic savings on Art Supplies there. I plan on going on Friday. Tucson Convention Center, 10-5:00 both days. Free adm. Call Sarnoff if you need further details: 795-1229

This is right before our crawl, so if you need art supplies, this might be the place to go.

Also, I would like to know who is coming to the crawl--can you "check-in" please. Thanks.

I am coming but probably will be late. I'll find you all since you will be holding sketchbooks in hand :) Sounds wonderful.

I also hope to go to Sarnoff's on Friday.
