On the way home from Sketchcrawl I spotted a chess park and decided to sketch some of these guys. Great subjects!

Thanks!

Haha, do you mean brash drawings, or brush drawings?

Brash would be cooler, by the way.

Haha.

Really cool sketches Alan! Lots of character!

Hey Alina, beautiful sketches as always (though they're not showing up on the forum for me, I went through to your blog) :)

Hey Alina,

In order to post your stuff up from blogger you can only post up the thumbnailed version on a forum - the actual real address of the larger version of images seems to change around - guess they don't want blogger to be an image host or something.

Anyways, the code for your images shows up like this on blogger:

Code: Select all

<a><img></a>
Copy everything after the 'src' (in this case, http://bp2.blogger.com/_Q-s78FcZtjU/Rk_ ... 112121.jpg) and use that as your image url on the forum. It appears that this url always stays the same no matter what.

Also, thanks for all the positive comments.

[update] Err.. code doesn't seem to actually show properly in this forum.. anybody know how I can post some code up? I know it's normally code and /code in square brackets, but it shows the above and not what the actual code is.

[update x2] ok I guess the simplest way to explain it is copy the image url that follows after 'src', not the tag that is after 'href' in the html. In this case, you would want to change your image urls to the following:

http://bp2.blogger.com/_Q-s78FcZtjU/Rk_ ... 112121.jpg

http://bp2.blogger.com/_Q-s78FcZtjU/Rk_ ... img379.jpg

http://bp3.blogger.com/_Q-s78FcZtjU/Rk_ ... img380.jpg

It was great meeting everyone. Awesome scans, Alan, Alina. It's my first sketchcrawl and I haven't sketched from life for a long long time. I went to a firefighter's fundraising breakfast beforehand and drew a little before going to the Pier.

Of course Smokey didn't talk and the girl in the taxi didn't think the ride was lame but I felt they should. The Chinese street performer did often say "It's showtime!" but not "baby!". I didn't see a pigeon pooing in mid air but I saw a big wet one splash near me.

This was my first Sketchcrawl and great fun! What a great way to spend the day. Nice to meet you all - we must make some loose group plan for next time, to meet at the start & at the end to compare sketches, stories, at least.
Getty next time? Or...?

I had a great time with everybody Saturday. I sneaked off behind the amusement park and found this pavilion where they have birthday parties for kids. Hope it uploads. I've never done this before.

You can go to the flickr link if it doesn't upload. I've been trying to figure this out all morning.
