Melbourne - Australia (RESULTS)

Come down to the National Gallery of Victoria and meet at the cafe at 9:30 for some sketching! The Meetup group Sketch en plain air is getting together then and the more the merrier. If you can't make it there, but have done some sketching elsewhere in Melbourne on the big day, feel free to contribute your drawings here too.

The Melbourne Sketch En Plein Air Meetup group got together yesterday at the National Gallery of Victoria and drew both inside and outside. Many of the group had not previously heard of Sketchcrawl so I was happy to introduce them to it!

I spent most of my time indoors drawing from the collection in the museum, and actually kept on going for a while after the group took a lunch break. I did start with a sculpture outside in the park, and then an interior view of this amazing wall of water at the NGV entrance before moving on to sculptures and paintings. Had a great time a really felt on a roll yesterday!

This is a watercolour sketch of the persimmon tree at the rear of National Gallery of Victoria by Lesley Sharon Rosenthal.

These two are from Kevin Boyd, who asked me to post them for him. He was also inspired to keep drawing during the day even after we'd left our meet up in the morning.
