We had quite a good turn out of seven sketchers, plus a couple of shoppers - we went to the 'New' Chinatown in Cyrildene (the old one in the city has got a bit dilapidated and abandoned) and sketched the restaurants and the wonderful fresh vegetable markets that spill onto the street. We had a delicious lunch at midday which rather stymied our sketching as we were all too full and sleepy to carry on much after that!

More to come I hope by the others....
I can feel great town's vitality It must be a popular place there. I love each depiction of signboards, containers as well as shoppers /sellers gesture
Thanks so much everybody - Philippe, yes, it doesn't look much like South Africa, but Johannesburg is very cosmopolitan!
Some more sketches from John Philip:
Many nice things by good artists, but my favorite has to be Cathy's flowing line and bright color...so appropriate to the subject! Thanks for drawing, y'all!
