Corvallis

Postby Letter C » Fri Feb 10, 2006 4:53 pm

OK, Corvallis folks, if you're not going to be in Toyko, let's get together on the 19th. It's the day after the Chocolate Fantasy (for out-of-towners - that's an annual fund raiser for the arts) so let's hear suggestions about where we will meet. Please pass the word.

I got one suggestion off the list. That was for either OSU campus, Findley Wildlife Refuge or Central Park. I thought Findley might be fun until the weather forecast for this weekend started including SNOW. How about the campus?
I think the time is too short to plan an out of town sketchcrawl.
Let me know what you think.

OSU sounds great especially with the forcast. Maybe it will just be the two of us. Could meet at the MU & sketch there. Always the library. Not certain what other buildings might be open. Anyone else interested in the Corvallis area???

The plan

Postby Letter C » Fri Feb 17, 2006 5:15 pm

Here's the plan. 11a. at the M.U., in that room closest to the Art Building. Don't know it's name. There are lots of booths and tables and 3 or 4 food vendors. Parking might be a problem. I'm going to try the art building lot. If the weather is still as cold and windy as it is right now, we might stay inside some building all day. If it turns nice, I'm sure the campus is starting to bloom and will provide plenty of material to draw.

I'll try to get to the M.U. a little early. See you there on Sunday.

Report

Postby Letter C » Mon Feb 20, 2006 4:11 am

In spite of the fact that it was 17° when I got up this morning we had 8 people show up for the sketchcrawl today. I had a great and productive time and I think everyone else did too. We'll be posting some drawings soon.

We had a good day even though we stayed inside most of the time. It was a backpack and parka kinda day.

I'll jump in here and say the "guest" who posted these fine drawings is Carolee.
