Great sketches, you guys! Lots of expression and playfulness.
What a great day yesterday! Started out cold (like a typical summer day in SF), but the sun came out later to play. I started with a few sketches around the pier and of other sketchers:

There were so many runners everywhere--I got into doing some motion studies on the various gaits of the runners. Then the one on the bottom, I had studied the movement of the body, but I needed to stick a head on there, and this is the first thing that came to mind. (I guess I was hungry).

Then I sat down to do a couple of landscapes. I was taken by the scale of these huge buildings that were dwarfed by the approach structure for the Golden Gate Bridge.

At the Crissy beach/park, there were SO many dogs--all having a great time. I love drawing dogs, and I like the challenge of trying to freeze their motions in my mind long enough to get them onto paper.

And then I got to the POFA and did my one watercolor for the day. (Actually, ink sketch with an application of watercolor pencils, worked over with a water brush--the first time I've used one of those. They rock!)

It was a terrific day, and it was nice talking with y'all after the event. See you in October!
