Phoenix, AZ - USA [Results]
Phoenix, AZ - USA [Results]
Had a blast today - got there a bit late and met a TON of folks all of whom were new to SketchCrawl but well practiced at sketching. Lots of great folks and much talent! I think there were 12 attending that we know of? Great to meet you all - looking forward to the next one. We wandered all over and had more to draw than we could ever do. The spot where I drew the church is just a different angle from the inverted pyramid that others will (hopefully) be uploading soon. In every direction there was a completely different scene to sketch and all were equally compelling. Here are my meager contributions to the cause:
Really large rabbit sculptures. I am hoping to finish watercoloring the water and fountains tonight.
The aforrementioned church
In a little courtyard with a gazebo where we met even more sketchcrawlers!

crgcas—Great colors, you definitely captured the feel of Phoenix.
Annie—Love that loose pencil pencil work.
Mossgate—Great drawings of the sculptures. I like how you handled the foliage in the first drawing.
Congratulations on a successful crawl!

First SketchCrawl I have participated. I have painted 1 big sketch in DownTown Tempe, and meet groups of Sketch Crawlers there. Annie invaded the left corner of my sketch Alexey

Annie - You too, it was so nice sketching with a large crowd this time. I enjoyed the company immensly.
Sunil - thanks!
Mossgate - Sorry to have missed you! Are these from a previous visit or did we just miss seeing you down there? They are excellent!
Alexey - Once again - great painting. Your son was very stealthy - I never even noticed the camera! He caught me looking pretty serious . So nice to meet you and your family!
Look forward to the next crawl - i'll post a topic for #27 so we can begin making plans for a spot now.

Been looking at everyone's photos and remembered I snapped a few on my phone. Love seeing everyone else's so here are a few to give a feel for the day here. It has been unusually rainy here in the desert lately and it was overcast and drizzly most of the morning.

From where I sat to paint the church but looking to the left a bit. You can make out the Arizona State University "A" on the hill in the background and the overcast skies.

I've been having so much fun seeing what other people did at Sketchcrawl that I decided to post the rest of mine. Also, a bunch of people from Sketchy Doodle posted on meetup.com: http://www.meetup.com/SketchyDoodle/photos/838713/

Mossgate - love your rabbit. You have a variation in line width that I am totally missing.
