Questions from someone who has never participated: where do you generally meet?
around what time?
and how many people normally come?
Do you go all day?
Do you meet somewhere for lunch?
Thanks in advance for answers!

Re: Washington DC USA
Where we meet depends on where we decide to draw. Usually someplace metro accessible. 10 or 11am.
We've slowly been building our numbers, but usually there are 3-4 people, depending on weather/busy holiday weekends.
I'm usually up for a full day of drawing, but there's no pressure for you to stay longer than you can.
Yes, we break for lunch!

Good morning all,
Has a location been picked yet? Unless I'm doing something wrong, I don't see it anywhere. Regards, ro.

DC sketch crawl
I'm very interested in participating on 2/27. I'll let you know if I think of any good indoor places...
Re: Washington DC USA
Hi District sketch crawlers!
I wonder what a winter sketch crawl through the museums on the national mall would be like? We could try to get a 30-60 minute visit to each starting at the Freer by Smithsonian Metro stop then working our way around the mall to the American History Museum? We could take a break at one for lunch and meet up at the end to show and share. Ctribastone's blog shows he has experience doing these, what do you think?
I think these are the biggest advantages to sketching crawling at the museums : free admission, warmth, restrooms and food. Downside are the crowds and rules about drawing materials, sitting, standing, photographing, etc.
I have little experience with "forums" like this so if you make a choice and you don't see me back could someone email me with info about the crawl?

The Museum of the American Indian might be good - nice things to sketch, good restaurant for lunch?

Re: Washington DC USA
A Museum crawl/hop sounds like a good plan. And if we start at the Freer or maybe the Hirshhorn that would put us at the American Indian Museum for lunch. No pressure to do every museum, but it might be fun to see how far we can get.
Re: Washington DC USA
That sounds great, Christian. Will we meet around 10?

Suggestion: For lunch at the delightful restaurant at the NMAI, the Mitsitam Cafe (http://www.nmai.si.edu/subpage.cfm?subp ... d=mitsitam), arrive before 12 noon. Else you'll be stuck in a line.
