Here's some pictures I took with my phone of our little group! The weather was really great and it was just lovely to be outside and sketch.
I will post my sketches in a minute.

Re: Brussels - Belgium [RESULTS]
Yesterday I participated in the Brussels Sketchcrawl, which was a lot of fun. The weather was really great for this time of the year, very sunny and bright. We had a great time drawing our surroundings.
Here's a spread I drew in two locations: at the royal palace (left + lion) and at the Grasmarkt near Central Station (market on the right).
Here's a closeup of my drawing of the palace, seen from the park.
After lunch, we walked towards the Marollen, a lovely area near the city center, but stopped near a skate ramp before. I know everyone else drew mostly people and skating figures, but I kind of suck at that so I drew some of the surroundings and two people.
In general I noticed I am a lot slower than the others. They mostly sketched people, very fast, while I was working on little lines, first in pencil, then in marker and then in watercolor.
Thanks everyone for the lovely day!

By the way, for those of you using Flickr, I created a Flickr group for the Brussel's Sketchcrawl pics:

There is, as you probably know, also an official Sketchcrawl Flickr group:

Great drawings indeed, lots of energy and movement ! It's always funny to see what other people make of the same scenery... I also like the picture of your bag & sketchbook, Ann !
To me, sketching streets and sketching to have a "final product" is quite new, I used to see it more as an exercise, which meant I did not have to worry about the result. But keeping a sketchbook seems a completely different approach... Work ahead for the coming months;)
Here are some more drawings : one of the "Palais royal"; a few very quick sketches at the entrance of an hotel Place du Marché aux Herbes; some details from the Parc Royal and the Place de la Chapelle.
As regards the first one, I wanted to colour my drawing in Photoshop according to the colour notes I had taken on the spot, but when I started painting the tree in yellow, I was inspired by the colours of the Belgian flag floating on top of the Palace, as they also reflected that sunny Belgian morning. Nothing political here lol;)

First participation on WWSketchcrawl.
Calm, even warm, late autumn weather.
I was not used to outdoor sketching but I loved it, wanna do it more.
I certainly have to learn to sketch quicker if I want to draw moving people.
(untill now I only drew models in the classroom).
Another thing to remember : never sketch with a H-pencil or you have to rework your drawing at home.
Also learned to know a few spots of Brussels that I didn't knew yet.
Nice to meet the other drawinglovers : the nice guys of the Rits and Kask, Ann, Dennis and "Prince"Laurent.
