Sunny 60 degrees in Tucson today. We had 4 new sketchers today. Welcome.

I decided to sketch architecture today as we were in downtown Tucson and close to an historic area, the Presidio. Here are two of my sketches.

This home is the Rosalia Verdugo House built in 1877 in the traditional Sonoran style with 24 inch thick walls (house on your right).


The Fox Theater was opened in April 1930 and is in Downtown Tucson. Wonderful tile and Art Deco style.

This was my first SketchCrawl and I just wanted to say thank you for everyone involved. I really loved the tutorial demonstrated by Ms. Thibault and will be trying that technique in the future. I mostly focused on contour drawings around the old Presidio that was renovated in downtown Tucson. I do a lot of my sketches with a Sanford NOBLOT INK PENCIL then run water over it to get some cool blue tones. It doesn't always turn out though.

Norma, I really love the style of that abstract, organic sketch that almost looks like stained glass - very cool!
