68th WWSC July 25 [RESULTS] (AND WWSC 67 April) Tallahassee Florida USA [RESULTS]
Hi Artists: We will just post WWSC 68 here on the 67th page
until the Administrators update the calendar
and create a page for TODAY July 25th, 2020: WWSC 68:
I understand a lot is going on, much of it tragic, but
we need to stay connected more than ever and SKETCHCRAWL is a great way to do this!
There's still a ot of good in the world that we see by sketching and bring out in each other by sharing Art!

I was discovered by a new (to me) reptile: As I sat drawing tree stumps, a Knight Anole sat watching me. What a surprise when I finally noticed!
Distinguished from its little American cousins by its large head in proportion to its body and bright yellow stripe, as well as its inquisitive personality, lizard was a decent model compared to the restless Florida anoles and much better than the giant but skittish green iguanas [below]:

Artmaking has always been good for mental health and spiritual well-being. Now Doctors are promoting art for its physiological and social benefits as well in the time of Corona Virus. Sketchcrawl keeps us connected with art friends at home and around the world.
If you are concerned or vulnerable in the time of Corona Virus, it's a good idea to please follow Gustavo's advice. and check for the latest updates from CDC:
https://www.cdc.gov/
At the time this was written, it was still within CDC guidelines to go to SOME parks or outdoor places if we stay 6 feet apart and take precautions. Special restrictions are already in place in some states like California for example or certain counties in Florida.
Please take care of our environment! Believe it or not, since many workers have been furloughed, latex gloves and toilet paper have become a big litter problem in our parks!
Stay well!
Mark
For those of us have moved temporarily we'll plan to particpate from wherever we are. Sketching and the "Armchair Travel" that Sketchcrawl provides might prevent cabin fever -- especially if you are in quarantine!
Post images yourself, please or email to me .

concerned perspecive: Sketch from Isolation
Please sketch in isolation and alone if you have any qualms at all!
You can post yourself or email images to me.
One of our Sketchcrawlers voiced specific concerns:
Thanks for your perspective, B.
Here's your Reply:
I believe it’s unwise and to heed the warnings of many nurses to their friends;
to be especially diligent during these next 3 weeks!
People catch it so fast, with some deaths equally fast! If you’re lucky to be in the hospital care, there is no contact with family even if fatal.
In NY, 51 doctors have passed away not to mention nurses and all medical personal risking their lives away from their families!
Sketch inside or around your yard,
Don’t chance it and be as safe as possible!
Thank you!
AND
I think suggesting to even meet any place other than home, may put people at risk.
It may sway people on the fence of whether to go out or not other than food
or medicine necessities.
Certainly we are legitimately concerned with peoples' mental well-being, and exercise also makes general health and immune system stronger.
Anyone else is welcome to Post their own Replies on WWSC as always!

Re: Keep on Sketchin'!
Phipps Park was open when Tom ran there yesterday.
He will make sure all is well there on Wed morning that all is OK for us.
Even the porch is a healthy change from indoor air and lighting.
Please check here or contact me directly if you need special reassurance about the park.
Otherwise, no news is good news.
Thanks Tom

Re: Keep on Sketchin'! Local SC opportunity
Local Sketchcrawl -- Sketch from anywhere, post on sketchcrawl.com or email images to me
but Tom is at Phipps Park which is still open, & not crowded.
Plenty of parking, plenty of space for a local sketchcrawl. We tend to "social distance" 6 feet or so at sketchcrawls naturally.
For those who can and would enjoy some comraderie at a distance,
Wednesday April first.

Art and going outside helps mental well-being, and exercise also makes general health and immune system stronger.
Get some fresh air and natural light. Feel better!
So Thanks Tom for organizing this opportunity to do some art together/apart.

Thanks, M9fred!
On our mini-crawl on April 1st people were already getting restless.
I didn't go out for almost a month except to walk the dog--
or to sketch in little patches of nature where the urban development forgot about trees etc.
Can you go out?
I'm looking forward to your sketches.
I bet participation will go up this WWSC because of shelter in place rules

It is so great to see everyone's work here today. I could only work on one little piece of a small thistle bloom from my yard in a small jelly jar. I miss you all, and really appreciate your sharing you work here. Stay well, and keep creating!
Cheers!

Oh, what a wonderful variety of drawings from your group.
The line work is impressive, and some of the color work is so nice. These are uplifting images of plants and trees and nature.
Thank you for sharing.
Sorry to hear about the litter.
Your artist quote of the day is a good one!!!

Re: Tallahassee Florida USA RESULTS]
Hi Mark!
Yes, we can go out but most people keep with the "stay at home" guidelines and
I go out only for walking the dogs and for doing the shopping.
It's always a pleasure for me to look at the results of sketchers in Tallahassee!
Very detailed linework and appealing colors in your drawings of plants and blossoms.
Are Alligators so common in your area? I've seen them only at the zoo and without a fence
between me and these animals I certainly would keep a quite long safe distance!
Congrats to all of your group!
Manfred

I go out only for walking the dogs and for doing the shopping.
It's always a pleasure for me to look at the results of sketchers in Tallahassee!
Very detailed linework and appealing colors in your drawings of plants and blossoms.
Are Alligators so common in your area? I've seen them only at the zoo and without a fence
between me and these animals I certainly would keep a quite long safe distance!
Congrats to all of your group!
