Today I sketched at Jayang-dong where Keonguk University is . Common Ground is a shopping mall. There were a lot of people who came to shopping, but there seemed to be a lot of people who came to play. I think that the exterior of the building was unique. It was a hot weather, but I sketched it happily with Seoul urban sketchers.

Do you like blue color?
There is a striking building shaped like a container with real blue color.
It's cool!
Just enjoy these urban sketching with us, especially you love using blue pigment.
Blue was the color of loneliness and sadness for Van Gogh and Rotrec and it was the color of freedom in the french revolution.
What does blue color mean to you?
I concentrated on expressing vivid and impressive color in these two works.
When it comes to me, the color blue stands for intensity.

Common Ground building in front of the central square, pencil
(36 x 51cm, watercolor paper)
Last Saturday, for the 56th World Wide SketchCrawl, we usk Seoul members met at Common Ground located at Jayang-dong, Gwangjin-gu, Seoul.
Common Ground is the largest container shopping mall complex in Korea built with 200 shipping containers, and is capable of transforming into
different structures or moving into different places. The architectural form is based on a center square connecting two buildings. On the central square, a weekend market is held with different themes, and visitors can enjoy the light snack at the colorful food trucks that offer an exotic dining experience.
It was a little hot and humid, but a fine day for sketching, I took a fancy to the exotic food truck on the market ground at first sight. After sketching that in watercolors quickly and I drew the impressive container building connected with over bridge and hanging placards in pencil. Then I went upstairs and sketched a scenery of the connections between different buildings in perspective. While sketching, I enjoyed expressing the movements of people coming and going immediately in my picture. We had a very pleasant and lively SketchCrawl !

Nice work by the Seoul artists, many different styles of sketching, and use of watercolor. I enjoyed the commentary by each artist, describing their interests and inspiration for portraying their locale.

Hi BH and Friends:
As usual, you amaze me with your ability to draw the spirit of life!
And you had a great response with so many artists!
Sorry I made a late post.(Please see Tallahassee Florida USA [LATE RESULTS] aka Wittenberg, Germany).
I was travelling.
I was happy to see M9fred and Elvi (and Amy), friends of ours in Vienna

, but had to go to Deutschland before WWSC day.
Mark Fletcher, Florida, USA
PS: Our city is on its second attempt to create a "shipping container neighborhood".

What an incredible amount of admirable sketches.

I like these colorful and vividly depicted street sceneries.
Thank you for sharing your photos and stories.
