It was a small group in D.C. today, and there was a little rain, but we had fun all the same.
Our plan was to check out the new streetcar on H Street, which just opened this year (and which I hadn't had a chance to ride yet). But it was raining when we arrived at H Street, so we took shelter in the Union Station parking garage, which has a glass-enclosed stairwell from which we could see the streetcar (and the city):
From there we got on the streetcar and headed down H Street. Here is fellow sketcher Christian on the streetcar:
We ended up at the art deco Atlas Theater, about a mile down H Street. By this time the rain was starting to let up, so we could sketch in the open:

Re: Washington, DC [RESULTS]
Hi Joel! Thought about you today and wondered if you were out sketching. It rained a little on us in Fredericksburg too but not enough to drive us inside. We attained USk Regional Chapter status this year so I hope we'll be doing more group things. Check us out on FB (Urban Sketchers Fredericksburg) and join us again sometime. Nice work here by the way.

The watercolor adds so much to these sketches.
Also, the line drawings have great personality.

Great works on a rainy day!
Your brush line work gives strong effect and reminds me of oriental drawings in Asia.
