Vienna, Austria [RESULTS]

Post by m9fred » Tue Oct 27, 2015 1:42 am

This afternoon only two sketchers found their pencils and paper and showed up at our meeting point in Ottakring, one of the western districts of Vienna. The day was very sunny but temperatures about 11°C (52°F) and a chilly wind were quite uncomfortable.
John and I walked around for some minutes and as we passed by a soccer ground we decided to do our first sketches there. Sketching at a sporting event was a challenging task but fun and we should try it more often (and from inside the sport facility).
In a nearby tavern we had dinner and warmed ourselves up.
Later on, after sundown, we made some drawings at an old suburban line station which was opened in 1898. This station was designed by Otto Wagner, an architect and urban planner famous for his Art Nouveau architecture.

Hi John and M9Fred!
Glad to see you got our to draw!
Dede also drew a nice bench on our crawl, but hasn't sent me a JPG yet...
What a beautiful station. People in action are a difficult challenge. I should try...there is a home football game here this weekend 8)
