It was raining all day in rainy season. Thirteen sketchers joined us. We were lucky to sketch inside the city hall enjoying various kinds of events under the title of "Play Seoul" held by city hall. Newly built city hall and former old building gave lots of drawing subjects. For the Art Festival(Jul 24 - Aug. 6, 2015) event lots of paintings and sculptures were exhibited on lobby for citizens. I drew some and enjoyed music and dance held from three o'clock. City Hall helds such program 'Love city hall on Saturday' on last Saturday every month for citizens. Though it rained we enjoyed all the shows and cool space in city hall.

Thank you all the participants for joing us : Kim Ji-hong, Jeong Ji-young, Jo Hye -kyoung, Shim Jung-ae, Kim Ok-kyung, Ahn Jae-hyang, Anna Fee Brunner, Kiki, Lee Yong-hwan, Kim Mi-kyung, Yun Young-sook, Moon Hyung-in, Yoo Byung-hwa

Seoul City Hall is one of the most favorite place to sketch in downtown Seoul, so I posted some sketches on usk blog several times.
The old city hall building and newly built city hall show not only combination of the architectural style, but historical change of the modern Seoul.
Last Saturday, for the 48th World Wide SketchCrawl, Seoul usk members met at the Seoul Citizens' Hall that is located on the basement floor of Seoul City Hall.
The Citizens' Hall serves as a courtyard where Seoulites share their creativity and individuality while participating in various programs such as discussion
meetings, workshops, seminars, concerts, exhibitions, special events, and wedding ceremonies.
The day was wet weather with the rainy season, so at first I sketched city hall buildings and streetscape outdoors between rains in the morning.
After lunch, enjoying various kinds of performances at Citizens' Hall, I drew some colorful and fantastic sceneries with excitement.

I really like your gestural drawings, BH. Seem appropriate to the movement of the dance performance. It shows up again on your drawing of one of the sculptures.
Moon Hyung-In's use of shape in the figure drawings is powerful, creates a strong composition in each sketch.
The band pictures are my favorites from the Archiartist.

Thanks a lot for your kind comments, Mark, Sophie, M9fred, Lilotte, JacQ and all the visitors!
We, Seoul sketchers participated in sketchcrawls since 21st.
I remember the past hard times caused by cold or hot, rainy days.
Those experiences may remain on mind more than ordinary fine weather.
I wish I can enjoy sketching more next time.
I expect many sketchers to have pleasure in doodling and sharing together.
Thanks! :D

Hi Seoul-Sketchers!

I apologize if I can't spell your names correctly or confused imagery. Our school did not have Korean language :(

Thanks, B H Yoo, for your help with language and understanding. You have helped me from the beginning: for example when I didn't understand how to upload images to Sketchcrawl in a larger size. Thanks also for adding the ******* line to make all clear and easy, but I should have been more careful.

My favorite drawings are always changing--did you add some new updated results? Thanks for your PM, BH, a reminder/opportunity to look again!

I meant to say that the shapes of Kim Ji-hong's band lend the composition a strong feeling of music; even the lights above contribute to the rhythm.

Moon Hyungpin's number 3 (audience) is another fine composition.

Iysyun's band is very fun and lively--especially the drummer made me smile :)

It's nice that Anna from Germany could join you. I drew for world wide sketchcrawl number 44 in Dresden, Germany and Saxon Switzerland National Park. So I wonder where you are from, Anna (you can send Private Message if you want).

Kim Mikyung's library is impressive--it looks like the pen hardly left the page!

B H, I particularly enjoy your conte and pastel drawings of sculptures exhibition inside the hall. The patron looking at "Memory"
by artist Sung Nak-Joong(성낙중) is almost as dynamic as your quick sketches of dancers and performing painters. Even the performing painters' ink paintings have movement.

Sketches show meaning and beauty, even humor. So thank you even if I cannot spell correctly your names :? My confusion=my fault!

Much thanks Mark for your kind and encouraging remarks!
Definitely it was my fault that I didn't divide each sketcher's works with remarkable notes.
Sorry for causing a confusion!

And Anna sketched with us two times while she was staying in Korea.
I heard that she was from Munchen. She was so eager to join us and showed us nice sketches with sincere observation.
She liked Korea countryside, urban cities and Korean food. She left Korea to her homeland last month hoping to meet again.

Thank you again for your detailed comments for each participants! :D

No need to apologize, B H Yoo!
You do a lot of work for sketchcrawl organizing and commenting on many cities.
Oh, and I like to re-view again.
Each time I see something new, like Kiki's second drawing is very sensitive and subtle, gentle and quiet :shh:
And "Aha!" : Now I see the large face in the lower right quadrant of Anna's second sketch! 8)
Thanks for your efforts!
