Today the NYC Urban Sketchers went across the river to Hoboken, NJ.

I sketched on the railroad on the way to meet them.

Hoboken has a very interesting terminal that houses the NJ transit trains, buses and ferry.


We sketched from another pier along the river. Here are a few photos of the sketchers in action.

The park had a great Vietnam Memorial, so I sketched that next.


The group moved on to Pier C which had views of a great little park on an island. I did a sketch of one of our members doing a sketch of that.


The restaurants along the street there were very colorful so I had to sketch one.


We did a pre-lunch look through everyone's sketchbooks from the morning. Mark shared his work.


Jared was a new member who joined us for the first time today.

It was Jimmy's last day sketching with the NYC Urban Sketchers. He is moving to Paris and we will miss him. Here he is showing his work.


At lunch some of the members kept sketching...even food and drinks don't slow some of them down.


I sketched some of the other sketchers at the table.

After lunch we sketched on the streets of Hoboken. I found two great views to sketch at the corner of First Street and Garden Street.




We ended the day back in the historic terminal where we shared our sketchbooks. Here are some of the sketches from the day.

I am hoping that some of the other sketchers will either upload their sketches or send them to me to upload. It was a great day of sketching in Hoboken.

Oh, darn! You picked a destination I could have gotten myself to this time, if I didn't have kids with me this week. Joe and Justin aren't very big on sketching so I skipped sketch crawl altogether. You got some great sketches in. And I like that you sketched some of the other participants too.

Mickey - Thanks. I knew you had the kids with you so I didn't bother telling you where we were going to sketch. If you had Jadyn it would have been a different story.
