National Meeting of Swiss Urban Sketchers.
In Neuchâtel on April 19th, 2014

It was great last time in Fribourg. We decided to meet again in Neuchâtel in spring.
Let's hope that we are lucky again to enjoy a sunny day – discovering and sketching the city all together.

Does anyone know nice spots or even places in case of bad wheather? Any proposals?

Should we meet at 11 o'clock at the train station?

On Saturday morning there is a lively market in the pedestrian centre. It is on... market square (Place des halles), which is surrounded by beautiful old buildings. I would also recommend going up to the castle from where there is a great view over the town, the lake and (if we are lucky) the Alps. There is also a nice café up there. If the weather is nice the port can be a good place to go as well.
In case of bad weather, several streets (rue de l'hôpital, faubourg de l'hôpital) have arcades which provide some cover. If that is not enough, we can fall back on a café crawl (Max et Meuron within the theatre, Woodey-Suchard for a hot chocolate...), go to the rather spectacular library building (Collège latin on Place Numa-Droz) or to one of the museums.

Hello, I'm new on this forum and on urban sketchers. I'm so happy you choose Neuchâtel because I live here and I missed Fribourg! So I booked the day for this event. I can find out some nice places to sketch but oxeye has good proposal
I'm looking forward to meet you and do this day with you.

Thank you oxeye for sharing your ideas. We were sketching at the market in Fribourg as well, and it was a great subject for creating living sketches, lot's of people (not moving too fast), food and other stuff, many colors... nice atmosphere! Port sounds interetsing, too. And to have some ideas about what to do in case of bad or cold wheather is great! looking forwards to see you there! André
