Re: BRISBANE RESULTS
Thanks Yin and JJ for organising!
It was my first sketchcrawl in Brisbane and it was another beautiful day in Brisbane!
I caught up with everyone at New Farm (mid way point) and got one sketch away.
New Farm was rezoned some 10/15 years ago from an industrial/warehouse zone to medium to high density residential zone. One of the meeting spots is the converted Powerhouse where I sketched the houses in Hawthorne and the people embracing the great weather with an outing in their sail boats.
I used to Kayak along the river and the instructor used to make us criss-cross along the river. Before you cross, you have to look, left and right, and left again, and go for it as fast as you can as the ferry/catamarans come barrelling down. Once they pass, you have to brace as the bow wave comes through. I was wondering why it was classified under "Adventure Activities" ... when I first booked.
The next stop was the Hamilton North Shore - another newly developed site with 2 sketches.
Brisbane has really embraced the river culture - even after the floods from 2011.
See you all next time

Re: BRISBANE RESULTS
Thnak you both of you for taking the time to post you sketches...
Re: BRISBANE RESULTS
No worries JJ - Thanks for all your positive energy!
Elaine - I didn't realise! I think we had already connected on Flickr before the sketchcrawl.
My friend, Karen, that I bumped into on the ferry and joined us for lunch said she "may" come on a sketchcrawl next time.
