Hi everyone,
Where do the Sydney sketchers want to go for this winter sketchcrawl? Somewhere indoors? I'm always happy at the Powerhouse Museum and there's a lot of space there for a large group.

Hi. I'm back from Europe. Happy to go to an indoors location
Powerhouse Museum is always a cool location.

Re: Sydney - where shall we go?
July in Sydney - considering the unpredictable weather indoors is probably a safer idea.
However most places will have an entry fee - Powerhouse Museum, Australian Museum, Maritime Museum.
The NSW Art Gallery is free, but only allows pencils - not paints or ink, so that may limit some people.
We are beginning to get a larger amount of people at the Sketchcrawls, so these larger places are a good space for us.
Any other suggestions????

Unfortunately due to current circumstances it seems that I won't be able to attend this sketchcrawl. Grrrr. Don't like to miss.

Hi Sydney Sketchcrawlers
At the sketch outing at Maritime Museum today a few of us discussed a couple of ideas. Although today was beautifully sunny, I agree in the wintery months we need to have a back-up plan if weather is so-so.
Consensus was that a great possibility could be QUEEN VICTORIA BUILDING, cnr George and Druitt Streets for lots of reasons including:
• QVB is a superb building with centre dome and if good weather it can be sketched from all four adjacent streets - someone may wish to tackle the statue of Victoria herself - there is also the architecture of the Town Hall over the road
• if we are unlucky enough to have inclement weather there are three levels inside to explore, stainglass, sweeping staircase, the historical clock, people in the cafes, window displays (believe it or not that can be a source of very interesting subject matter)
Check the website for any other information you require - but it is extremely easy to get to (buses or train to Town Hall)
http://www.qvb.com.au/About-QVB
So at this stage we have posted the above information at meetup.com for those peple who are members of Sydney Sketch Club - if there is anyone else out there who happens to see this then please come along at 10am and enjoy the company of this friendly group
Jennifer's mobile if required on the day is 0413 45 25 15
