Lazy Sketchcrawl - random location photos

Post by Phishtitz »

Hello

To help me practice my drawing when I don't have the time to get out and about, I've built a tool that uses Google Streetview and selects random locations world wide. It's not quite the same drawing from a screen rather than real life, but it does mean I can go anywhere in the world whenever I like :)

http://lazysketchcrawl.com

I've hooked it into the API for what3words.com, so that I can tag the drawings with the three words shown and find the location again easily

Feel free to have a play and let me know what you think

Thanks

David

Quite a neat idea. The only thing with google street view images is that the perspective is crazy - extreme wide angle, bent lines and the viewpoint is about 8' above ground level. Quite often you can tell a sketch has been copied from google because one or more of these traits is visible.
