It rained with thunder. Six sketchers participated in. The nice atmosphere of the palace in raining cauaght all of us to stay there though we had planned originally to move to the Jeongdong street after lunch. We kept sketching till 5 p.m in the quiet palace by the rare visitors due to rain. Though we got chilled sketching here and there in rain we enjoyed the beautiful scenery of the palace located in the center of Seoul across the city hall. Thank you all for the participation looking forward to seeing a lot of results in the palace! For more information about the palace please visit here http://www.deoksugung.go.kr/.

I could recall the word - 'appreciation' having good time.
How I was lost in hearing the sound of falling raindrops under the eaves!

It was rainy on and off all day in the 33rd World Wide SketchCrawl. We sketched at Deoksugung that is one the Five Grand Palace in Seoul. Traditional and modern style architecture exists together in harmony here and there in Deoksugung.

Seoul Sketchers...

Archiartist..Wow those are totally amazing sketches.. and so many.
Park Ji Woong...Nice Pencil sketch.
Jung Kyoung Won.. Great sketches, I particularly liked the second sketch displayed
Yoo Byung Hwa... Great sketch, I like the way the sketch makes you feel like you need to keep your head down to look at the building across the square. I also like the charcoal sketch, has good feeling of depth to it.
Lee Hyun Sook.. Great sketches, the blue works well and provides a feeling atmosphere

Cheers

Sorry so late checking in with you, B H.
Went to my sister's wedding at the other end of our country and had no internet or electic power for a while. Did sketch, but no scans yet. Will post as soon as equipment is repaired. Did get Mary's sketches posted before equipment problems. more images later.
Very glad to see your group of sketchers are still going strong!

Thank you for your thorough and specific comments, B. H.! Of course I tried to keep my pencil still and quiet during the actual wedding ceremony :shh: , but there were waiting times leading up to it when I could draw.
I liked Yoo Byung Hwa's "Junghwamun" gate/hinge. :D It reminds me of an unusual support for a building from 100 years ago I sketched. ImageProbably 100 years old is still very young in Korea. Such spendid historic architecture as part of your daily life-- wonderful !
