Abingdon, UK [Results]

Post by drawingpad »

Hi All,
I'm running a sketchcrawl, as part of the UK Big Draw initiative, for a small bunch of school kids (UK year eight) on Saturday. Hope to post some of the drawings if successful. Thank you for the inspiration.

James..

Good luck with the kids.. I hope you all have fun. :)

My first taste of sketching was at school when I lived in Benson (RAF Base) as a 10 year old kid, but after moving away I did not do any drawing for 30 years. After taking it up later I wished I had continued. I had encouragement, but my brother had taken the artist spot in the family while I took maths and sciences route. I am now a firm believer in encouraging kids.

Abingdon area is a great place to live and draw.

I look forward to seeing the sketches and drawings your group posts.

Cheers

Here's some of our small groups results. We had a fantastic morning. Brilliant weather and enthusiastic draughtsmen. The aim was 8 drawings in 180 minutes. These are the best:

All drawn by UK Year 8 boys (that is aged about 12) in the grounds of the school.

Thanks for the comments. Cyberdave – glad you're back drawing.... It is such a good activity to slow down, look and really notice stuff.
