Hi World: Sorry we are a little late posting this crawl--Internet access is limited in the Everlades. Our steadfast group (including Mary Lawson, Dede Harter, Jeff Zenick and most recent Tallahassee participant Bill Otersen went on to draw at the downtown market and Challenger Space Center while I sent in my 3 sketches from the swamp at Green Cay Wetlands. First in was Dede's drawing from the Space Museum. I'll add more images they are emailed to me.

Mark.. So I hear you were "Swamped" ... I love the swamp scenes, so detailed. Darn so that's what they call that red flower

I always enjoy your groups scenes. Favorites this time= your tall vertical format artworks, great color in Sarah's street scene, Andrea's maze-like architecture and Philip's fascinating tree bark (?) sketch!

Sketching in such scientific museum gives us special lesson that there is no boundary in sketches.
Drawing such objects seems difficult but worthwhile!

What a great venue to sketch; the space apparatus pieces worked well, and I loved the the native plants treatment and labeling. We have the firecracker out here, too. Your swamp scenes were gorgeous.

Thanks again for checking our results and commenting on our crawl.
My favorites from yours so far were Tetsu's tall sketch of Tokyo Tower and Zoji-ji-- old and new in the same drawing; also liked Kumi's art of edibles, like sandwich and coffee and desserts. Remembering good bread and coffee in Japan.
Japan is such a wonderful country. I hope improving after terrible disasters. We had a Japan Aid project in my town organized by one of my co-workers. I hope it helped at least a little.
We didn't have a chance to visit Tokyo often, but we lived in Kyoto for 3 years. Your drawings and photos make me feel nostalgic. Sigh!

Just a reminder, our local mini-crawl will be Sept 10; meet at the Tallahassee Museum of History and Natural Science before 9 am to sketch the FL native animals in the rehab zoo and the pioneer farm; or people or scenes from the swamp!
