Oslo, Norway [Results]

Postby Stella » Sun Jul 24, 2011 1:55 am

We are a nation in sorrow and mourning. Very few met up for the Sketch Crawl on the 23rd of july, one day after a devastating massacre and explosion in Oslo and Utøya on the 22nd.
After meeting at the "monolitten", Åshild, Maja and I decided to spend the day in the Oslo centre; to be a part of the sad spirit of the city, and keeping with the spirit of the Sketch crawl; to record everything around us with pencils and watercolors.

Hi Stella.
Despite of the difficulty, I appreciate you courage of grabbing a pen and draw.
I'll send all my empathy to your people and hope you come back soon from this shocking experience.
Nice draws hope to see the others.

It was a brave and thoughtful thing to do - the draw what you drew. Thinking of you all in Norway (from Sydney).

Really appreciate your effort. The decision to go for the sketchcrawl in the middle of all the sorrow and chaos shows how the worst can't damage the spirit of people.

Thank you for all your good words, support and encouragement from around the world. An extra thank-you to Brita for the memorial sketch, and John for the candid photographic documentation.

Dear Oslo sketchers,
I appreciate that you have courage to go out and made reportage for us. The third sketch explains the feeling, sadness especially. So touching. And these photos tell what circumstance you were drawing.
I think of you all.
