Doha Qatar RESULTS

A solo crawl for me this time, too hot for most people to venture far - 43c by 9.30am. I sketched in 2 cafes this morning.
First, unusual for many, but not for here, a shisha pipe by the door of the Corner Cafe (left).

Next I went to Cafe Tasse, and drew their window box (right), as greenery is unusual for us, although the view of the souq was tempting.

Finally, the light on the chandelier and stained glass, with plants captured my attention.

I added colour at home as it was too hot to carry much equipment.

Hope everyone else had a good day.

Sue, fantastic lines. I love all the sketches, esp. the pipe. The lamp looks so spectacular and delicate.

Things look different in colour but I still think these are good as they are. Hope you got to draw the chandalier later too.

Hi travelling Sue P,
Glad you're survivng the heat! My brother worked in that area of the world a some; We have had several days 40-42C here in Florida, but 95-98 % humidity--wish it would rain, so sticky, even the ink and paper repond differently. Anyway, good for you braving the heat and getting a crawl in.

Nice sketching Sue. I remember the shisha (hookah) from a stretch in Pakistan, but they're in California now, too. 43C, whew, I remember some of those days, too. Here on N. California coast daytime summer temps vary from mid-fifties Farenheit to mid-sixties, which suits me just fine!
