TRI-CITIES, WA [RESULTS]

Post by grayshoe »

The "509 Urban Sketchers and Painters" met this morning at 9am, laid out some options for things to sketch and decided to go with Jan's idea about a friend who runs a farm just north of the Tri-Cities, in the shrub-steppe deserts of eastern Washington state.

We found a wonderful old 1928 Chevy truck sitting in the middle of his driveway and four of the five of us decided to sketch it. Following you will see those sketches. It was a rather warm day, so Jan found a spot in the shade, as did Greg, and put together the only pastoral scene of the day.

* Once you have viewed our pics here, you might want to click on "32nd World Wide SketchCrawl" above and check out some the sketches that were produced from all around the globe today. It's fun.

LtoR: Jim, Dave, Greg, Jan, and Dave.

This old 1928 Chevy truck was sitting smack-dab in the middle of the parking area in front of the farmer's residence.
We couldn't keep our eyes off of it.

Dave, Bob, and way back on the fence, Jan, and Jim.

Greg's take on the truck from his shady position back by the barn.

Greg shows Jan and Dave how to wave a sign.

Jim concentrates on his sketch of the '28 Chevy truck.

Jan, parked in a cool shade, works on a lovely pastoral scene.

Jan shows her sketch, but the light was too bright to capture it well here. She looks good
in front of that old truck though.

And here's that pastoral scene we've been talking about. Great job on the the animals, too.

Dave shows his sketches:

And finally, Dave shows Jan how to do the "boogaloo."

We had a very fun day today.

Nice location you've found!
It seems the truck has waited all the years to draw the attention in a sketchcrawl. Wonderful sketches of the truck and beautiful depicted horse and cows.
I like the detailed sketch of the old sickle bar mower.
