Winter Sketchcrawl!

My suggestion is for the seaplanes in Rose Bay. There is also a Cafe and a Pub/Hotel in case it rains.

Is winter down under :S

Here are somother suggestions
NSW Art Gallery
Australian Museum ($10 entry)
OPera House surrounds
Maritime Museum
Paddy's Markets /China town.

My own suggestion is for the Art Gallery - A warm indoor option. We can all go to one room and then move onto another.

any thoughts????

The Art Gallery is a good spot for winter. They will lend you a stool to sit on while sketching. I really enjoyed it one other time we were forced there because of the rain.

The Art Gallery sounds like a good option - lots of inspiration! Perhaps we could sketch in one or two of the galleries as a group . The sculpture gallery would be good.

Bad news re ART Gallery . I phoned and asked about sketching at the gallery and they only allow pencil drawing in the Gallery. Nothing else.
I think that this would turn away the majority of people who usually turn up at this event.

so can you think again what would suit for hot/cold weather in two weeks.

Well here are a couple of ideas. IN-side at the National Maritime Museum..... or I could quite fancy lying in a hammock and drawing more ropes (or more tools) st Hyde Park Barracks. I guess it's too cold for the Chinese Gardens?

I have to agree it's too cold. I'm happy with Pencil Sketching or the other mentioned options.

Hello
I have checked out a few places and a great option for inside on a chilly Sydney day is the PowerHouse Museum. It is in Ultimo, near Darling Harbour/ Convention Centre, so has lots of transport access (see in the link below) A few of us checked it out on Saturday and it had so many objects (big and small) to draw! hours of drawing. It also has a good cafe for lunch

.
Here is a link http://www.powerhousemuseum.com/visit/.

There is a charge of $5 to enter - but well worth it.
Meet at 10 AM in side the foyer ????

(Sydney Sketch Club is scheduling this as an event - so there will be at least a dzoen sketchers meeting there)

Wow, time has slipped away so quickly ! Another Sketchmeet.

I'm ganna aim to make it to the powerhouse meet, see if my warm-comfy-bed-sleep-in temptation gets the better of me. :)
