Summer time
Any ideas? What about Bondi?
Other option is Balmoral Beach. Easy for access: North Sydney Station and from there grab a Bus to Mosman (20 minutes more) and that's it
a really cute beach with some interesting places to sketch, including baths, marina, beach, old cafes and fish and chips

I would be coming in from Richmond.

Balmoral sounds lovely - Ihave not been there in years - is there a "wet weather" option at Balmoral beach or areas of shade to sit under if it is really hot?
another suggestion could be Macquarie Street in the city
This is also going to be scheduled as a Sydney sketch club event, so we should get quite a few people

I had a chat with a few Sydney sketchers today and thought David's idea of a beach was great ! Let's enjoy and show off our wonderful beaches!
Manly seems to be a popluar option. - lots to draw, plenty of public transport and wet weather options.

I've just been to Manly and a local artist, Erin gave me a wonderful tour of the Manly Wharf area. There is lots to draw (to the left and right ) along the Esplanade as you leave the ferry – ferries as they come and go, the water, parks, people, buildings, boats ... (and there is plenty of shelter if it is raining/hot)
Suggestion :
10 am Meet at Laurent cafe (it is next to McDonalds) as you exit the Manly Wharf complex.
There are 15 people from the Sydney Sketch Club coming along on the day, so it shoudl be a great day !
Getting there

Thaks for the prompt Liz
Only two days to go ! I hope this wonderful weather holds out til then.
There are now 18 people from Sydney Sketch Club attending !! Its going to be a great group .
Because there are so many people I have taken the liberty of booking a table at a local Cafe - somewhere to compare our mornings sketches and experiences
- and come along and chat even if you are not eating
We can meet for lunch at 12.30 .I've booked at Inside Out Cafe Creperie, West Esplanade (just cross the road from wharf, It is NEXT DOOR to the Woodfired Pizza place on the corner)
not long to go now........ sharpen those pencils, clean the paint tin and find some paper.......
