I didn't get to do many sketches this time.
After one week in North Korea I woke up on the day of the SketchCrawl and had to get a train at 10:10 AM to Dandong on the Chinese side of the border.
We had been drinking a lot the night before and I had gone to bed late. Anyway, I got up early to do at least one sketch from Pyongyang.
So this one was done from my window in Yanggakdo Hotel around 7:30 in the morning. A very rough and compact view of the city done by a tired guy in his underpants to the sound of distant propaganda music...
We got on the train and I pulled out my sketchbook. But the ride with this Russian train on old and rusty North Korean tracks was incredibly bumpy so it got very challenging to do a good sketch. And since I was sitting in a compartment with three fellow travelers the motifs were limited.
A last attempt.
Eventually followed three hours on the border with paper work and baggage checks and when we finally got out in Dandong it was dark and time for a shower, dinner and an early night. So this is all I could manage.

You didn't disappoint me. Thanks for sharing.

I like the summary view of Pyongyang and the drawings on the train too - no sign of the bumpy tracks.
What a privilege to go to somewhere which has such restricted access. Did you do any more drawings
earlier in your visit that you could show us too?

Thanks for you comments.
AVBK: I didn't get to do any sketching in DPRK apart from this. The schedule was extremely busy with no time for sketching. I took a lot of photos though.
Kumi-san: It was absolutely an experience. I guess you've seen my photos on Facebook. A lot more to come.
