Re: Seattle, Washington USA...light rail service

Post by jnewday »

The light rail service that runs through the bus tunnel downtown and goes out to Sea-Tac is called Central Link Light Rail.......there are a couple stops south of Seattle but I'd have to see if it made sense to take a bus to the bus tunnel, then take light rail, then possibly another bus to get to Georgetown.

I'd like to suggest meeting at All City Coffee (1205 S Vale St - Seattle, WA 98108) in Georgetown at 10am?

I vote yes for All City Coffee.....

They are pretty close to the bus stop at 13th Ave S. and S. Bailey, this is where the bus from the downtown bus tunnel, #106 Renton, stops.

I don't know where everybody was. I was at the All City Coffee shop in Georgetown at 10:00 a.m. this am and didn't see anybody I recognized or anyone with sketching equipment. I saw Beth about 9:50 a.m., but she disappeared and I didn't see where she went. Maybe it was something I said. Anyway, I went across Airport Rd. and painted an brick building complex. It was a beautiful day for painting.

Edit: Oooops. I guess it wasn't Beth and the reason I didn't see anyone was that I had the wrong date. Oh well, I couldn't do Saturday anyway. I am thankful for the opportunity to paint. Good luck to the rest of you.

What a great sketch, thanks so much for sharing it. Who would've thought this was a Seattle area scene? Looks like a castle from Spain or something of similar heritage. Interesting how a scene is so colored by the artist's own interpretation.

Sorry I can't make the sketchcrawl, life has been a bit dizzy with things to take care of lately.

I had a great time everyone! Awesome work, really inspirational.

Anyone who is interested in joining Sketch Pistols events please send me a friend request on Facebook, and I'll add you to the Sketch Pistols "group". You may see a Facebook profile for Sketch Pistols too, but ignore that, I'm getting rid of it and running the announcements through my "Dave Adams' profile from now on.

Keep sketching!

It was great to see everybody! 14 of us showed up and had a great time sketching in Georgetown, a funky post-industrial revitalized area of south Seattle. Afterwards we met at Jules Mae's Saloon and passed our sketchbooks around. Thanks to everyone!

Great results everyone. I like the idea of adding notes, Gabi. The vespa on the roof is crazy. Well done.

These are all fantastic! Gabi, I love your bold lines and spare use of color--it really makes things "pop." I also love the notes on the page. :D
