Thek, beautiful drawings as always. There is a lovely line quality to these, particularly in your drawing of S. at the Buddhist display.

HedgeWytch, I have such a hard time drawing "normal" cars that I have to caricature them. Thanks, though, for mistaking my weakness for something positive :)

Thanks, JP. Everyone check the website link in JP's profile. His animation design work is really awesome.

Here's a link to the art tutorial which I mentioned during the sketchcrawl.

Good times guys and excellent drawings!
It was really fun sketching and talking with you all. Sorry I didn't get to say proper goodbye at the tube station. Those crowded things
always makes me super confused.

Another blog mentioned and worth checking out: http://radhowto.blogspot.com/

oh London, you ALL rock! and your comments are so funny some of them.
Anyway I love all the different styles and subjects here and especially think drawing statues with people admiring them is great . also love the couple and the angels.
I love the use of felt pens in different tones to denote horrid London foggy smog! thats too cool!

Thanks for sharing them all and I look forward to seeing more of yr work at the next crawl.
Best regards,,

I love the hands on those statues, Soeren. You can hardly see all the lucious rendering in the tiny Molskeine. Scanned and scaled it looks amazing.

Skillful use of light and shade, Ambassador. It really brings a sense of light and realism when you can go in and "spot" darks.

Thanks for the comments all, really looking forward to the next one.

Soeren, love how you flipped between the two modes of sketching on the crawl - your atmospheric marker sketches (which my brain still can't comprehend how they're put together!) and those gorgeously detailed statue studies.

Brin, like Tom says, great use of light and shade. I wish I could see tones like you do, but when I look at a scene, all I see is line! Really fantastic mix of subjects too with the displays, people, and I love the detail of the blue biro drawing of the building in sloane square.

Oh, and thanks for all the links guys. First thing I did when I got home that Saturday was google Rad-how-to's blog, and Biocreep (who Chris mentioned). It all blew my mind. Tom, those last two links you've posted are real treasure troves of information! It'll be a while before I need to buy another book! JP's blog too is utterly fantastic.

The guy I was talking about was David Pimentel, his blog is here:

love his gestures.
