The upcoming National Thanksgiving holiday may have thrown some of our local artists off schedule; I didn't get any responses from our group this time, but I'll post my results now and hope some of the others will also post in the following days. The local fishing scene was my focus this time. I started off with a sketch of the Highway #1 Garcia River Bridge location, which is usually excellent for steelhead trout. River flow is low because the rainy season hasn't started and flow is concentrated near the left abutment:
Next I visited the Point Arena boat launching wharf, where local fishermen cast for rock cod and bottom feeders:
By this time in the afternoon it was getting pretty chilly, so I packed it in. See you all on the 26th SketchCrawl!

great drawings! I like the idea of drawing the fishermen. Maybe they still in the one pose for longer than other people do.

Thanks alissa and becco;
alissa, you'd think a fisherman would be a good, quiet study, but these guys were tending 2 or 3 poles and would constantly dash from one to the other. I had 3 sketches going at one time and just switched from one to the other as they came and went.
