Hi all,
I've scheduled a SketchCrawl in Orange County, CA at the Upper Newport Bay/Muth Interpretive Center in Newport Beach. Here's a link: http://www.newportbay.org/muthover.htm
Here are the vitals:
When: Saturday November 21, 2009
Time: 2 PM to 5 PM (I may run a few minutes late due to a prior commitment, but I'll be there!)
Where: Upper Newport Bay/Muth Interpretive Center, 2301 University Drive (at Irvine Avenue), Newport Beach, CA
Park: In the dirt lot at the corner of University Drive and Irvine Avenue. Walk down the hill on the pathway and you
will eventually see the hidden building.
Meet: In the patio in front of the building. We'll sketch there; then go up on top of the building and sketch from a
different vantage point; then move along down to the boardwalk (a quarter mile away) and sketch some more.
Bring: Hat, water, sketchbook, mechanical pencil, eraser, pen, portable watercolors, waterbrush, paper towel and a
lightweight portable chair if you want to sit down. Make sure it's all lightweight!
Sorry about starting so late, but I have a prior commitment that day. You can start earlier and meet up with us. The Interpretive Center opens at 10 AM until 4 PM and has restrooms and a water fountain. There are a number of displays to look at and they will give you a map of all the paths in the nature preserve. You could also pick up a map in the morning, drive around to the other side of the bay and sketch there, then drive back and meet up with us at 2 PM (well, closer to 2:15 PM for me...). New friends are ALWAYS welcome. We hope to see you there!
Cheers,
Art Goddess
