Your architectural background surely shows! I still have to post mine. I've been having trouble posting them on Flickr. I'll have to try again.
I enjoyed the day with you! I'm so glad that y'all came!

My watercolor of the Carnegie Library. I used Winsor Newton watercolors on 5"x7" Strathmore watercolor paper. This is a restored library which is a repository for area historical materials.
I had a really nice day, sketching with Raena and John! And we had such perfect weather! Looking forward to the next one! My sister was driving home this time, so she didn't participate as she usually does.

I'm having trouble getting a good flesh color that will scan. My yellow always looks too bright! This was a sketch of a blonde girl with a pony tail, dressed in pink and white, who was walking all around while talking on her phone. 5"x7", ink and watercolor.

More photos from our day, sketching in Bryan/College Station, Texas.
Image
We went inside the Carnegie Library, as we wound up sketching downtown, to see this replica of a house in Calvert, Texas. The Blue House burned, but the replica is on display in the Carnegie.

Image
After sketching in the Carnegie Library garden in downtown Bryan, we went to Rudy's, a barbeque place in College Station that has an Aggie theme. The Aggies were playing at home that evening, so the place was full of maroon and white.

Image
We settled in at a table on the enclosed back porch to sketch. Lots of noise and food!

Image
I just started sketching the wall, intending to put the guys in front of us in the drawing, but we had to leave. I intended to add the guys from my photo later.

Image
These were the guys I intended to sketch. They were posing for photos, but I thought the back view was interesting. "We Are The Aggies". The 12 on the shirt stands for the famous 12th Man. One of the big Aggie traditions.

I started my sketches in light pencil, then added ink. And later, since I couldn't get my sketches to post on Flickr for a few days, I added watercolors to them.
