NEW YORK CITY, NY - USA - [RESULTS]

We had gorgeous weather in New York for the SketchCrawl. A small group of people met up on Governors Island, a short ferry ride away from Manhattan/Brooklyn. Thanks to sunilo for organizing the meeting point.
Here are my sketches from the day; hope to see the others post as well!
Before heading down to the island, I stopped at Republic at Union Square for a quick lunch. Sketched the scene looking north toward 18th Street while waiting for food:
Then I headed down to the ferry terminal to catch the boat to Governors Island. Rode with a crowd of bicyclists eager to take their wheels out to the car-free paths on the island:
On the island, sketched these large sculptures near the tents set up for the New Island Festival-related events:
I then set up my stool in a shady area near Castle Williams and sketched the building and the skyline:
As I sat on the ferry waiting to go back to Manhattan, I did a quick sketch of the huge red structures above the docks:
(Sketches done with Lamy Safari and Pilot Varsity pens using Noodler's ink in Lexington Gray; colored with watercolors.)
All in all, a wonderful SketchCrawl day!
