Seoul, Korea - RESULT

Post by Kim Mikyung » Sat Sep 19, 2009 11:52 am

Hello!

Ten sketchers participated in the 24th Sketchcrawl in Seoul.
We met at Starbucks coffee shop in Daehangno.
Daehangno is a culture street in Seoul. Many small-sized theaters and art facilities are concentrated in this area.
You can easily find great cafes and restaurants in Daehangno. It is always filled with young people.

A fellow sketcher and I moved to the Naksan Park near Daehangno.
The park was established when Mt. Naksan was redeveloped. Visitors on the peak can see the four mountains off in the distance - Mt. Bugaksan, Namsan, Inwangsan and Naksan - that surround the old capital. The fortress Wall of Seoul is maintained along the upper ridge and is the best place to enjoy the views of the downtown region.

At 3 pm we met again for sketchbook sharing.

Today I enjoyed sketchcrawl happily and here are some of my results.

Lovely description of your day and the photos of people are good. Your sketches are great and very delicate and subtle.

Really like the watercolour of the city nestled in the mountains. It's so good it reminds me of my time in Seoul.

Daehagro(University street) has various shapes in the style of architecture from early modern to contemporary ones. There located a lot of performing places for plays. Young people gather and enjoy the atmosphere of the street. The place was surrounded by Naksan fortress wall on the hill. The scenery from the wall was real fantastic. We enjoyed this crawl very much.

I sketched buildings and people around the Daehag-ro. The street is always alive. Seoul Nat'l University had located there before it moved to the new campus at Kwanak-ku. Thank you all the sketchers and see you soon!
