The bridge has two levels, one for cars and the other one for pedestrians and bicyclists.

Due to very heavy rains in the last weeks in Austria and Germany the waterlevel of river Danube is currently very high and larger ships barely can pass the bridges.
After our first sketches we went over the bridge to Donauinsel, a popular local recreation and fetsival venue. Its an isle in the river, 21km in lenght and max. 200m wide, intended as flood protection.

On Donauinsel we sketched a very curious object: A lighthouse in a city far away from the sea!
This Lighthouse was part of the stage design of the "Bregenz Festival" in 1989 and after some years beneath the "Technisches Museum Wien" the lighthouse was moved to the Donauinsel in 1997. There the lighthouse is part of the so called "Sunken City", a recreation area with restaurants, vis-à-vis the Vienna Internal Centre.
We all had much fun this day and finished our sketchcrawl as the wind got uncomfortable strong.
