SYDNEY, Australia - RESULTS

Post by alissa »

Three Sydney sketchcrawlers (Liz and Jock and myself) sketched on a fine but cool day. We met in the heritage-listed Eveleigh Market, Sydney’s only custom-renovated ‘rain, hail, shine’ market venue. The vast permanent market site is housed in the custom-renovated railway workshop at the heritage listed Eveleigh Railyards. We were there for 4 hours and produced many drawings each.

It was a great day and there was so many things to draw - people, food, dogs, buildings.... Here are my drawings . Alissa <http://www.flickr.com/photos/31752495@N03>

Again, I love the presentation on these, you really make sure the viewer gets a feel for the day! My favourites are the two stalls sketches and the spectacular close - what a great pic to finish on, lovely composition and the way you annotate makes it look like the last page of children's story, the type they read before they drop off.

I've got to say, you must work at extreme speed and without fear to sketch while in a queue!

Yes, it was a great day! Pity more could not make it - we missed you.

Here are my sketches from the day.... (needless to say I am exhausted now after so much sketching!)

Your lines make me weep Liz (in a good way!). Lovely as always, beautifully drawn and coloured just enough to really make everything pop out! My favourite is the Yuri's Sustainable Produce - love the effect having the foreground in colour gives.
